Introduction

Hello, all! My name is Prema Nandi. I am a graduate assistant and a Master of Landscape Architecture student at Virginia Tech. I am originally from Bangladesh where I completed my undergrad in Architecture from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Apart from my academic studies, I love to do music, painting, graphic design, traveling, etc.

I have chosen the "Pandapas Pond", its adjacent area, and the Poverty Creek that runs with it as a beginning point of my watershed selection. the larger watershed it falls into is called the Kanawha Subregion.

I selected this because I visited this place quite a few times and liked the biodiversity and landscape around it, so much that I illustrated this pond last summer.

As I was looking for a watershed to study, I also found something interesting about its position. It sits very close to the continental divide, so, if rain falls slightly in the north-east of this area, it goes to the Atlantic Ocean, and raindrops falling into the south-west, go all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. I think it would be interesting to see if this has any effect on this pond.
